ZAXXON / CBS Electronics / Atari 2600

Lol wut? CBS's port of Sega's arcade hit Zaxxon changes the game into something entirely different and way more bizarre. The view is from behind your ship now, and very primitive sprite scaling is used to imitate 3D depth allowing you to change altitude up and down while also moving left and right as the screen auto-scrolls forward. It's actually pretty interesting tech for the humble 2600, but it's also complete garbage to play as the caveman-level scaling makes it nearly impossible to judge true depth on the screen or where you are in relation to the enemies, who just mysteriously triple in size every now and then as they get closer to you.
