TENNIS / Activision / Atari 2600
This Tennis game is about as stripped-down and basic as it gets, but it ends up being more fun that games released two or three generations later! Mostly this is due to epic ball physics for the time - it manages to feel very real despite the simple graphics. There's no different types of swings, and you can't really place the ball other than the direction you happen to be moving when you hit it, but the matches get intense with a challenging computer opponent that is *just* beasty enough to keep the game interesting without being impossible. 2 human players can take each other on as well.
