I think this game's success in its time was more about the unique pitching perspective and the digitized voices than the gameplay.

Yeah, I feel like there's very little control both pitching and hitting, and fielding has the same problems that almost all other 8-bit baseball games do - too slidey and sloppy, you automatically get assigned a guy who you can't switch and may not be the closest to the ball, and the AI is completely worthless.

Also, no real MLB teams or players, though you get twelve teams based in American cities (but not with corresponding colors).

Still waiting for a really good old baseball game here ... this one isn't it.
