MEGA MAN 2 / Capcom / Gameboy
Oh lawd. The first Gameboy Mega Man showed some promise in almost perfectly replicating the gameplay style of the NES games, but cocked it up with overbearingly difficult and finicky level design. Instead of refining a bit to greatness here, however, Capcom pulls even harder in the wrong direction. More trollish, memorization-based, die-and-retry masochist level design ahoy, this time with 4 of the Mega Man 2 bosses. The music has also taken a serious step backward; whereas the first game had pretty good revisions of music from the first NES game, this game seems to feature original compositions made by someone in the throes of a seizure. Whole game is just a terrible assault on the senses. Avoid.
